Millburn Distillery History
1807 Reportedly established by a Mr Welsh
1853 Operated by David Rose (local corn merchant) possibly as a mill
1876 Distillery renovated
1892 Sold to A. Haig & Co
1921 Taken over by Booth’s Distillery Ltd
1922 Extensive rebuilding due to fire damage
1937 Acquired by Distiller Company Ltd (DCL)
1943 Transferred to Scottish Malt Distillers Ltd. (SMD)
1985 Mothballed
1988 Site demolished in preparation for property development

Millburn Distillery Comments
Site now host to a restaurant/pub called “The Auld Distillery” on Millburn Road.
Important contributor to the vatted malt “Mill Burn”.
