1846 Established by James Sutherland (Inverness Provost)
1884 New distillery built under same name with own railway linked to main line
1917-19 Closed – used as a US Naval base during WWI
1920 Acquired by Mackinlays & Birnie (of Glen Mhor distillery)
1972 Distiller Company Ltd (DCL) acquired Glen Albyn and also Glen Mhor
1983 Closed down
1988 Distillery knocked down for a supermarket development
