The Speyside Distillery History
1895 Drumguish distillery established.
1911 Drumguish distillery closed.
1962 George Christie, a noted Scottish entrepreneur and whisky enthusiast, decided to build a new distillery opposite the location of the old Drumguish Distillery. Christie hired Alex Fairlie to begin construction on a new distillery, which took nearly 30 years to complete.
1987 Building completed
1990 First distillation at The Speyside Distillery.



The Speyside Distillery Comments
Original Drumguish Distillery 1895 – 1911, stood opposite new distillery
The new distillery was built by "dry stane dyking", a centuries old method which was practised by a small number of craftsmen.
Scott’s Selection, is a line of independent bottlings from Speyside Distillers Co. Ltd. featuring rare single malts from some of Scotland’s finest distilleries.
King’s Crest 25 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky is also bottled by Speyside Distillers Co. Ltd.
