1826	First distillery here founded.
1845	Second (present) distillery built
1848	Prince Albert (residing at Balmoral) visited the distillery – Royal Warrant given
1860	First Lochnagar closed down
1906	Renovated
1916	Purchased by John Dewar & Sons Ltd
1925	Acquired by DCL
1930	Scottish Malt Distillers Ltd. (SMD)
1963	Reconstructed

Situated close to Balmoral on Deeside, at one time host to several distilleries, but now just this one.

Admission charge	Adult admission charge (including a discount voucher redeemable in the distillery shop towards the purchase of a 70cl bottle of whisky).
Comments	Last tour one hour before closing. On occasion the distillery is not in production, though visitors are still welcome and tours provided. Children under 8 are welcome but not encouraged to take the tour.
Location	Located just south of the River Dee on the B976 which can be approached from Ballater or from Crathie on the A93, the main Braemar to Aberdeen road.
