Highland Park Distillery History
1790's Magnus Eunson illicit distilling.
1798 David Robertson founded the distillery.
1816 John Robertson (excise officer who arrested Eunson) takes over.
1826 Robert Borwick takes over.
1840 George Borwick (son of Robert) takes over.
1869 James Borwick (brother of George) inherrits the distillery.
1876 Stuart & Mackay begin exporting to India and Norway.
1895 James Grant of Glenlivet Distillery bought the distillery.
1898 Expanded from 2 to 4 stills.
1937 Highland distilleries bought the distillery.
1986 Visitor Centre opened.
1997 18yo and 25yo launched.
1999 Highland Distillers is bought over by Edrington Group
2000 Visitor Centre awarded "Five Star Visitor Attraction".
2005 30yo released
2006 New packaging introduced

Murray McDavid Highland Park 1988
The colour shows that this Highland Park has spent it's short life in Sherry casks and this is played out on the nose. A wonderful combination of the sweet sherry mingling with the gentle peat and briny character. A thick texture with lots of chewy honeyed fruit and a lingering finish.
Peerless Cask Strength Highland Park 1966 35 yr old
Amber, golden color. The nose nearly explodes from the glass offering gobs of sweet malt, ginger, fragrant heather, and raw honey. Amazingly complex and forward without being over bearing at any point. The finish is long and smoky with mingling spice and heather. Outstanding!
