Don’t be fooled by the name (it’s inherited), here at The Wine Shop we’re deadly serious about our whisky. Well not so much ‘serious’ exactly, more like ‘passionate’. For we believe, above all else, that whisky is there to be enjoyed. Yes, the wearing of an anorak and an unhealthy knowledge of distilleries is permissible on occasion, but only as long as you drink the end product with a smile on your face. Remember, if you can’t have a good time with a bottle of our Queen of the Moorlands, a bunch of friends and a packet of peanuts, then its time to take a long, hard look at yourself.
At The Wine Shop we believe it’s good to talk. In fact we can chat about whisky for hours on end if you let us. That’s why we don’t have a direct order facility on our website. We want to speak to you in person. Whether your buying whisky as a present or a leading authority on the subject, we want to make sure you’ve chosen the perfect bottle. And if you can visit our shop in person, we have samples of most of our whiskies available to try before you buy.
The range at The Wine Shop covers the great and good in the world of whisky. Our bottles are hand selected on quality and value. We’re huge fans of Islay, both the place and its distilleries, so don’t be surprised to discover a few special expressions on our shelves. We’re also stockists of the Queen of the Moorlands range of whiskies, no surprise really as we produced them. You can find more about Queen of the Moorlands, the only range chosen and selected by its customers, here.
